Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 September 2026

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit ChordNest (the "site"). The short version: the site does not ask you for anything, does not run ads, and keeps your song settings inside your own browser.

Who runs this site

ChordNest is a personal, non-commercial chord library operated from Nepal. For anything in this policy, contact bikram.adhikariadhitya@gmail.com.

Information you give us

There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no newsletters on this site. The only information you send us is what you choose to put in an email or a comment. If you email us, we keep that message so we can reply to it, and for no other reason.

Information collected automatically

The site is hosted on Blogger, a Google service. Like every web host, Google records standard technical data when a page is served — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, date and time. That logging is done by Google, not by us, and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. We do not have access to a database of visitors and we do not try to identify individual readers.

Cookies and browser storage

ChordNest itself sets no tracking cookies. What it does use is your browser's own local storage, on your device only, to remember:

  • songs you mark as favourites;
  • whether you prefer the light or dark theme;
  • song settings such as transpose, text size and scroll speed.

None of that is sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data, or using private browsing, removes it. Blogger may set its own cookies for basic functions such as comment sign-in and abuse prevention; you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though comment sign-in will stop working.

Comments

Comments are handled by Blogger. To leave one you may be asked to sign in with a Google account, in which case Google shows your public profile name and picture alongside your comment. We can see what you post and can delete it, but we never see your password or the rest of your Google account. Do not put personal details you would not want published into a public comment.

Advertising and analytics

At the time of writing, this site runs no advertising and no analytics scripts — no AdSense, no Google Analytics, no third-party trackers. If that changes, this page will be updated before the scripts go live, with a plain description of what each service collects and how to opt out.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out to lyrics sources, official artist pages or video platforms. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, and this one no longer applies. It is worth reading theirs.

Children

This site is a general-audience music resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Because we hold no visitor database, there is usually nothing to request or delete. If you have emailed us or left a comment and want that message or comment removed, ask us and we will remove it. For data held by Google as the host of this blog, use your Google account settings.

Changes to this policy

Any change is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes — new advertising or analytics, for example — will be described in plain language rather than buried.
