About us

ChordNest is a free chord library for people who want to pick up a guitar or a ukulele and play a song today — not in six months, once the theory makes sense. Every song here is written out as plain chords and lyrics, in the order you actually play them.

Why this site exists

Most chord sites bury the song under pop-ups, wrong transpositions and diagrams that assume you already read music. ChordNest was built the other way round: the chord sheet loads first, the tools sit next to it, and nothing else gets in the way while your hands are busy.

What you will find here

  • Guitar and ukulele chords for the same song, so you can play it on whichever instrument is within reach.
  • Nepali, Hindi and English songs — old favourites and current ones.
  • A chord library with finger-by-finger diagrams for every shape used on the site.
  • A beginner guide that gets you from zero to your first full song with four chords.

Tools on every song page

  • Transpose — move a song into a key that suits your voice.
  • Simplify chords — swap barre chords for beginner-friendly shapes.
  • Auto scroll — the page keeps pace so both hands stay on the instrument.
  • Beginner mode — shows a diagram for every chord in the song.
  • Favourites — save songs for later. They stay in your own browser; there is no account to create.

How the chords are worked out

Transcriptions are made by ear and checked against the recording, then simplified where a beginner-friendly shape sounds close enough. They are one person's reading of a song, not an official score — a different musician might hear a different voicing, and both can be right.

If a chord sounds wrong to you, please say so. Corrections from readers are the main reason the sheets keep getting better.

About the songs themselves

Chord sheets are published for education, practice and private study. The songs remain the property of the writers, composers and publishers who created them. ChordNest does not host or sell sheet music, backing tracks or audio files. If you hold rights to a song and want a page changed or removed, write to us and it will be handled quickly — the process is set out on the Terms and Conditions page.
